The Panorama Restaurant and Sky Lounge is one of Miami’s best kept secrets. Located on the 21st floor of the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel, the restaurant yields breathtaking panoramic views. Often, when I am seeking out some reflective time alone, I head to the sonesta and have a glass of wine and one of their tasty appetizers. The entrees and salads are beautifully plated but are consistently inadequately seasoned. As a result, the entrees makes for a somewhat bland meal. The staff is exceeding friendly and accommodating.

Perhaps the best thing about the Sonesta is that it appears undiscovered. I have visited several times (in the day) and it is hardly ever filled to capacity. The atmosphere is casually intimate and makes for the perfect a la carte brunch or midday lunch destination. The Menu is reasonably priced but options are somewhat limited.

My recommended course:
Appetizer: Patacones de Pollo (Fried Plantains, chicken and cheese) $9
Entree: Seco de Pescado (Corvina herb rubbed & grilled, served over rice & bean cake, grilled shrimp in red onion salsa & finished w/ cilantro sauce) I’d switch the rice out for potatoes. $19
Dessert: Pastel de Chocolate (Warm chocolate cake w/ a melted chocolate filling & vanilla ice cream) $9
