In the last two weeks, I’ve been to American Social twice now. I met a friend there two Sundays ago at her request. We did not make reservations, and upon arriving there realized that was a grave mistake. The bar is a comfortable space but it was designed to be just that, a bar. And so, its exponential popularity doesn’t quite match its actual capacity. We waited for a while before we were seated and made our selves to the line for brunch. The theme here is quality not quantity. The provisions aren’t as vast as your typical Miami Brunch but everything is very tasty. Included in the spread is: smoked salmon, crab legs, Belgium waffles, made-to-order omelettes, fried chicken, steak, an array of sausages, biscuits, fresh fruits and moderate deserts (chocolate croissants and danishes to name a few). The vibe here is professional 20-30 somethings. It’s very chill and has the feel of a backyard barbecue. I’d definitely recommend stopping by for their Saturday or Sunday brunch. If the mood strikes, have a stroll along the Las Olas strip. It’s changed quite a bit in recent years with new boutiques and compelling galleries.
